DETECTIVE RAYMOND
STANLEY KOWALSKI
(a.k.a. Ray Vecchio)
CHICAGO P.D.
-
(Portrayed
by Callum Keith Rennie)
-
AGE:
Unknown, but probably his mid thirties.
-
DISTINGUISHING
CHARACTERISTICS: 5 foot 10 1/2 inches. Distinctive
hair-do (up), medium build (smallest build between him, Fraser and Ray
Vecchio). Tattoo on right shoulder.
-
CLOTHES:
Varied.
-
DEMEANOR:
Like Ray Vecchio, Ray sometimes gets irritated at Benton quite easily.
Often threatens suspects. Can be a little violent when provoked (once punched
Benton in the face because he wouldn't shut up.).
-
MOTTO/SAYINGS:
"... or I will kick you in the head." "Pitter patter, let's get at 'er."
-
EXPERIENCE
AS AN OFFICER: Not entirely sure, but his
first citation was in December 1988 for rescuing a young boy held hostage
in a warehouse.
-
LIVES:
In an apartment above a woman who likes to listen to him practice his dance
steps. She says that he's light on his feet, it's almost hypnotic.
-
MARITAL
STATUS: Divorced from State's attorney Stella
Kowalski. Now has a thing, "feelings" as he called it, for Benton's half-sister,
Maggie Mackenzie.
-
FAMILY
LIFE: The Vecchios are technically his family
now, though he didn't take over as the father figure when Ray Vecchio left
(when Ray V's father died, he took over as the man of the house.).
-
ENJOYS:
Watching his baseball video. Being a cop. Dancing. His car (the one his
dad brought to him, he only got to drive the Riv a few times before it
caught on fire... with him and Benton inside.).
-
DISLIKES:
When Franny can't work the computer fast enough. When Benton says "Hmm".
Feeling threatened (at the end of the series when Ray Vecchio came back,
Ray K. felt that his friendship with Benton was going to go down the tubes).
Being criticized. Swimming. Acting like a human torpedo (Mounty on the
Bounty). When Stella is involved with another man. Being dropped on the
pavement. Curling. Constable Turnbull. Being under arrest in the Canadian
Consulate.
-
SECRET
SHAMES: Has 20/45 vision and couldn't shoot
the broad side of a barn without his glasses on (with his glasses however,
he has very good aim.). When he was little, he and Stella were in a bank
when it got robbed. The thief tried to take Stella as a hostage and Ray
wet himself out of fright. In the mean time, the robber started laughing
so Stella had a chance to get away. Stella thought that Ray did it on purpose
to create a diversion for her to escape, but it wasn't the case.
