• AGE: About the same age as Benton
• DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: 6 feet tall, balding with brown hair, clean shaven. Average build (possibly not quite as big as Benton, I'm not sure, it's hard to tell with the Red Serge).
• CLOTHES: Fond of Armani clothing, also known to wear loud hawaiian shirts.
• DEMEANOR: Prone to get annoyed easily, especially when Benton says "Hmm." Can be very impatient when wanting to get on an elevator, only to have Benton stop him to let someone else on first. Very loyal and trustworthy as a friend.
• MOTTO/SAYINGS: "Being an American, I also know where my strength lies, and that's in being as heavily armed as possible at all times." "Oh my God!... I can't believe you... (...put that in your mouth, are smelling that, etc.!")
• EXPERIENCE AS AN OFFICER: 16 years with the Chicago P.D.
• LIVES: With his mother, his sisters (Francesca and Maria) and brother-in-law (Maria's husband Tony).
• MARITAL STATUS: Once married, now divorced. Had teenage romance with Irene Zuko, sister of a known mobster, almost got Ray killed for it (Irene wasn't so lucky). Also had a fling with a federal agent named Suzanne Chaplin and state's attorney Louise St.Laurent.
• LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English, slowly starting to get the hang of Canadian.
• FAMILY LIFE: Took over position of father figure in the house after his dad died. Like Benton's dad, Ray's dad occasionally appears to Ray as an apparition, usually to criticize him, or hand out bad advice.
• ENJOYS: Busting the bad guys, being seen as a bit of a hero, free pizza, poker (for money. The boys in blue all enjoy a game now and then, but if Benton's around, it puts a damper on things. When Louie once asked "Why can't we play for money? I mean, what are we gonna do? Arrest ourselves?" Ray replied "No, but he would." To which Benton responded "I'm sorry, I would feel honour bound."), pool, his car.
• NUMBER OF TIMES HIS CAR HAS EXPLODED: At least twice.
• DISLIKES: When people blow up his car, when he has to blow up his car to help someone, trying to find parts for his car to make it exactly like the last one... When mother nature eats his shoes. Ian MacDonald. When the dispatcher doesn't believe what he's telling her (IE: "Officer in pursuit of black Cadillac in pursuit of two guys on ice skates. Why is that so hard to believe?") Rummaging through trash bins/piles/sewers on Benton's asking, therefore ruining his suits (when Benton appears spotless). Getting shot in the back. When the wolf eats his food. When Benton says "Hmm." When Franny gets overly amorous around Benton. Getting lost in the woods (in Canada, when Benton is blind, and can't walk).
• SECRET SHAMES: Accidentally shot Benton in the back, indirectly responsible for the death of Irene Zuko.
